The Murphy Men's Soccer Team Needs Your Help!
For the first time ever, the Murphy Men's Soccer Team has advanced to the Semi-Finals of the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) Playoffs. The Panthers will face the Oak Mountain Eagles on Friday night at 8:15 P.M. at John Hunt Park in Huntsville, Alabama. The winner will play for the State Championship on Saturday at 3:00 P.M.
As one might imagine, traveling to and appearing in the Final Four in Huntsville is an expensive endeavor for a team of 20 or so players and coaches, some of whom have limited resources. Estimates are into the thousands of dollars for transportation and housing alone.
Being a Mobile County public school, Murphy Soccer receives NO HELP from the School System or the School to support the soccer team. All funds to operate the program are generated by parent and player contributions, fundraising and the revenue generated by admission to games. As a result, the Murphy Men's Soccer Team is in need of funds to allow our team to travel to Huntsville and to compete for the State Championship.
Please consider making a donation to Murphy Soccer. If you are a corporation or a business we would appreciate a larger donation so we can ensure that these young men are not worried about the financial aspect of this trip. However, any amount is appreciated. You may make a donation with a credit card by clicking on the following PayPal Donation button and following the instructions or you may send a check or money order to Panther Soccer Boosters, P. O. Box 9991, Mobile, Alabama 36691.

Varsity Men Finish Second in Section 1 for 2011

The Murphy Varsity Men finished Second in Section 1 with an 8-2 record in Section play with both losses coming to the Davidson Warriors. The Panthers finished with an overall record of 14-6-2 and will host the McGill Toolen Yellow Jackets in the first round of the State Playoffs. If both teams play to their potential, this should be a very entertaining game.
Murphy JV Men Finish First in Section 1
The Murphy JV Men went undefeated with a 7-0 record in Section 1 play to finish first in the Section. The JV Men finished the season with a 13-4-2 record overall.
Murphy JV Men Win Ram Classic 2011
The Murphy JV Men's team won the Ram Classic 2011 with a 3-0 win over the Hornets of Baker High School on Saturday, March 19, 2011. After dropping their first game against St. Paul's the JV Panthers came back with a 1-0 victory over Davidson. Baker's win over the St. Paul's Saints on Saturday morning set up a game that if Murphy could shut out Baker, they would win the Ram Classic title on points over Baker and St. Paul's. Baker played tough but the Panthers were tougher and shut out the Hornets to take home the Championship. Congratulations to Coach Brandon Richardson and the JV Panthers on their well deserved championship. The JV Panthers are now 9-2-1 on the season and 4-0 in the Region and play St. Paul's and McGill out of the Region before taking on four Region opponents to finish out the year.
